So Many Paths...

If you are failing to plan, you are planning to fail.

~ Tariq Siddique

I’m sitting in an Airport in Leon, Mexico (a quaint town close to some amazing colonial towns in Mexico) digesting everything that transpired this weekend.  As you may know, if you’ve kept up with the blog, Sparx is the culmination and expression of my passion–the communal culture of the Hookah.  For me, bringing my passion to life requires courage, devotion, and planning; lots and lots of planning.

The courage is stepping away from a successful business into an unknown.  The devotion is sacrificing everything to this, not because I have to, but because I want to.  Finally the planning is the meticulous writing and revising of a business plan that has been tested by almost 20 other very successful Entrepreneurs now.

Every presentation I do and every discussion I have is like a roller-coaster filled with highs and lows.  I have learned more from these highs and lows than I could have ever imagined.  I traveled to Mexico to present my business plan to two separate Entrepreneurs’ Organization Forums for feedback, what I got was a glimpse into the brilliance of people who started in places like mine.

I endured nearly 8 cumulative hours of scrutiny and dialog, and while I loved and appreciated every second of it, it has left me in the paradoxical state of exhaustion and excitement.  I’m exhausted because I’ve only slept about 10 hours in three days and I’m excited because I cannot wait to revise my business plan and send it out to for the next wave of scrutiny.

My goal, when I set out writing the business plan for Sparx was to have dozens (maybe as many as 50) Entrepreneurs that I know and trust review it and give me the harshest and most honest feedback possible.  I’m happy to say that I’m well on the way to accomplishing this goal.  With each round of scrutiny my business plan becomes stronger and more focused, and while I know it’s never possible to have something be totally perfect, my goal in life has been to find that place that is as close to perfection as is humanly possible.

Like all business plans, the one for Sparx will be tested by the real world.  It will stand up to competition (vigorous I’m sure), and dance through the market spreading our ethos; The Art of Cloud™.

Sparx is coming, and when it is here, it will change the world.

This is Sparx™!
