The Tao of Hookahs

In Taoism (learn more, click here) there is a concept that all things in nature have a tendency to function in harmony and find the perfect balance.  This principle applies to all things large, small, obscure, and prevalent—including Hookahs, Shishas, Nargiles, Gelyouns, and Hubbly Bubblies.  Now bear with me and read on because there is a certain… “mad logic” to all of this.

When we use a Hookah, or do anything for that matter, we’re really searching for balance.  Allow me to elaborate using the Hookah and Sparx as my example…

When I prepare a Hookah—a really great Hookah that everyone falls in love with—I take the time, as long as it takes, to pair the best flavors together, add in the perfect amount of ice to the base, add things to flavor the water in the base, size the coal just right, and make sure that all the pieces fit in perfectly.

By doing this me and the people experience the “fullness” and the Tao of the Hookah.  The flavors dance across our tongues and you can taste the orange, the mint, the vanilla, etc.  Before the Hookah smoke reaches our mouths, the flavors in the water shoot up and you can feel the coolness of the smoke and taste the alcohol, tea, cola, etc.  This Tao inspired Hookah is smooth and makes a person want to draw it in as deep as possible.

It is, in a word… Perfect.
